Where the South Bay Learns to Ballroom Dance

Rumba

The Rumba developed from Cuban dances such as the Son and the Danzon in the 1930s and 1940s.

This romantic, slow Latin dance has several versions, including the "Box-Step Rumba" or "American Rumba".

Rumba became extremely popular because it gave American dancers a chance to use the hip action they saw Latin dancers using in films and night clubs.

These videos show what you'll learn in your first Rumba class!
