Private lessons are the quickest way to improve your dancing. These lessons offer you the full attention of one of our skilled instructors. You and your teacher will work on the tips and techniques to make you look and dance your best! We also offer private lessons for small groups.

If you would like to improve your posture and coordination, as well as learn some new steps, a private lesson is the way to go!

Lessons last 45 minutes and can be scheduled Monday through Saturday during normal business hours(Monday to Thursday Noon to 10pm, Friday Noon to 8pm, and Saturday 11am to 5pm. rates, our special packages or give us a call today.

When you start your private instruction we will be introducing you to our medalist system. This system starts at the bronze level as social dancing, it progresses to the silver level as advanced social moves. When you arrive at the Gold level you will feel the confidence of a performance dancing.

Medalist levels:

Introductory and Foundation:

As a new student you will first be introduced to us as professionals and to all the new and crazy steps you will need to get your dancing started. In this level you will hopefully be building confidence in us as teachers and yourself as a dancer.

Bronze Medal:

When you make it to the Bronze level you are saying to yourself I can do it. Dance floors will begin to look like instruments of fun not torture. In this level you will learn all the basic steps of the social dancer in the dances you want to learn.

Silver Medal:

The silver level is for that person which truly falls in love with dance. They enjoy how it feels to move across the floor and shake their body. Silver dancers are so good people stop to watch them dance by.

Gold Level:

The gold dancer is a good dancer. They often have the look of a pro. They steps become so interesting and the movements so evocative that everyone enjoys the beauty of the dancer at this level.

Turning Pro:

Join our teacher training program. San Jose Dancesport is committed to running teacher training year round. We enjoy helping new dancers get started in the carreer of ballroom dance.

Don't forget we offer a beginner Special for those newcomers who are interested in checking out the studio and learning more about ballroom dancing as well as our private instruction.
